The Musmak is the historic fort in the centre of Riyadh.
This painting, inspired by old photographs of Riyadh from the early part of the Twentieth Century, shows Riyadh as it would have looked in the past with the city wall and the desert beyond. The towers of the Musmak Fort can be seen above the roofline of the surrounding buildings.
