The task of the surrealist painter is to create settings which on the one hand seem almost impossible, and yet on the other look almost natural. The spectator has to decide whether the scene appeals and whether it is the sort of place into which they might enjoy 'escaping'. In this classical setting the red phone box looks timeless as it becomes part of the surreal landscape.
