The central building is the Henry VIII Gate at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London. So often buildings lend themselves to surrealist compositions where imagination can be given free reign. The vast 'piazza' in the foreground is inspired by Renaissance paintings where great mathematical perspectives played an important part in the composition of a scene.
